Camp Gecko has had a change of Management beginning of Oct 2019 and both host, Anna & Björn, are really amazing. Starting from the welcome onsite until keeping the guests informed about special events or highlights to be seen or also for joining the Guest dinner (if campers book this) - and Anna is a briliant chef.
I stayed at the Moonlight campspot and the view into the Naukluft Mountains is stunning. The outdoor shower as well as the exposed toilet seat is definetely a must see. The Camp Gecko has also a tented campsite near by a waterhole.
All in all highly recommended to stay there and enjoy this part of Namibia, whilst listening to Hyaenas in the night and a stunning sky without any light pollution.

Da wohl ein Besitzerwechsel im Oktober 2019 stattfand, möchte ich im Vorfeld explizit erwähnen, dass es sich die folgende Bewertung auf die neuen Besitzer Anna und Björn bezieht, die einen riesengroßen Teil dazu beigetragen haben, dass der Urlaub zu einem meiner schönsten Urlaube wurde. Die Campinganlagen werden stets sauber und ordentlich gehalten. Die Freilufttoilette bietet einen Ausblick, den man so wahrscheinlich noch nie genießen durfte und ist, so verrückt es sich anhört, ein absolutes Highlight, welches man sich unbedingt einmal gönnen sollte. Wer einmal Urlaub in Namibia macht, sollte sich auf jeden Fall die Zeit für einen (zumindest kurzen) Aufenthalt nehmen und das herzliche und warme Willkommen, die Gastfreundschaft sowie die familiäre Atmosphäre im Camp Gecko genießen. Immer (und hoffentlich sehr bald) wieder gerne. Danke für einen unvergesslichen Urlaub.

Anna and her husband are so friendly that you don't want to leave.
You have to accept the dinner with the owners ans also the breakfast in the lapa. A beer in the hand, Just sit down and enjoy the sundown.
